Whiteville Police responded to  a shooting at Sandy Apartments

Leroy Moor Jr. , arrestedOn October 25th, Whiteville Police responded to the scene of a shooting in the Sandy Apartments. Upon arriving, a single man victim was located and transported to Columbus County Hospital for treatment. The victim, Tony Baker of Whiteville, NC. later succumbed to his injures. Whiteville Police Investigation Service Division alone with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation conducted a joint investigation into the shooting.

 On November 23rd, an investigator with the Whiteville Police Department with the State Bureau of Investigations took into custody Leroy Moor Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, and charged him with the 1st-degree murder of the victim, Tony Baker. Moor was taken into custody in Fayetteville N.C., by the Whiteville Police and the SBI. They transported him back to Columbus County without incident. Mr. Moor is currently  under no bond at the Columbus County Detention Facility
