Frances Baldwin, DUI Murder

DUI Murder by France BaldwinColumbus County Court Decision:
Frances Baldwin now will serve 132 to 171 months in a North Carolina prison for killing a man riding a motorcycle .
He was charged in the driving while impaired death of a motorcyclist and today July 24,2017 pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of Michael Evans Campbell.

This fatality occurred May 31, 2015.  Baldwin turned his truck in front of Campbellā€™s motorcycle near the Farmers Union Store,  Highway 1001 and Hallsboro RD North causing the crash. He was driving while impaired with a blood alcohol level of 0.14.

Drivers with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08% or higher (i.e., drunk drivers) are considered alcohol-impaired by law. About one in three traffic deaths in the United States involve a drunk driver. Thanks to dedicated efforts, rates of drunk driving and alcohol-involved fatal crashes have gone down in recent years.  Still, drunk drivers got behind the wheel millions of times in 2017. More about this way of life.
